Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who is in the process of filming his next film in Chandigarh hometown, is not staying with his family. He has previously checked into a hotel.
Ayushmann, shooting for Abhishek Kapoor’s “Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui,” starring Vaani Kapoor, in his hometown, cites the Covid pandemic as the reason for his decision.
“I have been extremely careful during the pandemic and have taken every possible step to avoid contracting the virus and to protect my family. My wife and my two young children can never be endangered by me,” Ayushmann said.
He added, “Now that I’m at work, our parents in Chandigarh also need to be safe at all times. I want to help get the industry back on track, but I also want to protect my family from the virus.”
The actor and the entire production team checked into a hotel. “We’ll all stay there until the end of the shoot. Now when I go to meet my family, we’ll keep a social distance and wear masks. It feels strange, but it’s an important security step,” Ayushmann said.
The actor admits that he does not spend time with his family. “I also get tested regularly during the shoot. Staying in a hotel helps protect both my family and the crew members as we’ve all tried to make a bio-bubble. Once the shoot is complete, I will catch lost time with my family, ‘he said.
Ayushmann credits Abhishek Kapoor and his wife, in addition to supervising the production crew, for keeping the virus at bay on sets.
