BAFTA announces jury for Breakthrough India 2021; AR Rahman, Anupam Kher, Mira Nair, Siddharth Roy Kapur amongst the jurors : Bollywood News

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) today announced a stunning list of jury members for its first BAFTA Breakthrough India initiative supported by Netflix. Distinguished professionals from the film, sports and television industries came together to select this year’s Talented Honors. The jury was chaired by AR Rahman, Ambassador of BAFTA Breakthrough India.

BAFTA invited candidates from across the country to apply for its flagship talent initiative ‘BAFTA Breakthrough India’. Due to numerous quality applications from the films, games and television industries across the country, the initiative will recognize not five but ten emerging Indian talent in three industries.

Ten selected BAFTA Breakthrough India honors will receive one-on-one mentoring and career guidance in the UK and internationally, full voting BAFTA membership and access to BAFTA events and networking opportunities.

Due to the ongoing Kovid-19 epidemic, the jury met virtually, bringing a diverse mix of national and international knowledge into the film, sports and television industries.

The decider marks the arrival of BAFTA to showcase, showcase and bring to India the select talents of India, Britain and America, as well as the creative talent of the coming generations in film, sports and television. BAFTA Breakthrough India, launched in November 2020, is BAFTA’s flagship, global new talent initiative that showcases and supports the next generation of creative talent in film, games and television. Previously known as Breakthrough Brits, the initiative has been running in the UK since 2013 and in China in 2019, but for the first time this year the initiative is recognizing talent globally in the UK, US and India. It has championed 165 talented newcomers in its history, including actors Letitia Wright, Florence Pugh, Josh O’Connor, Malachi Kirby, Ray Pentaki and Molly Windsor, reality television producer Coco Jackson, musician Segun Akinola, sports producer Dan Gray, and The director is involved.
