The Western India Cine Staff Federation has decided to withdraw the ban imposed on actress Gauhar Khan for flouting the COVID-19 rules. The decision comes weeks after the demonetisation decision. Last month, FWICE slammed the actress after an FIR was filed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for flouting quarantine rules on March 15.
BMC alleged that Gauhar stepped in for the shooting despite testing positive for COVID-19. After learning this, FWICE abused the actress for two months and issued a non-cooperative directive against her.
Reportedly FWICE has now decided to shut him down with a warning. The organization reportedly warned him that if the incident was repeated, the ban would be reimposed and would not be lifted for a long time.
According to reports, the producer of the show where Gauhar was shooting was pleading with FWICE to forgive him. FWICE was informed that the producer would suffer major losses from the ban as it would also disturb the combination dates of other artists.
FWICE general secretary Ashok Dubey and chairman BN Tiwari confirmed the development to a news portal and said that they would get the letter of permission by tomorrow (2 April).
