Five years after her Bollywood debut in Smeep Kang’s Second Hand Husband, opposite Punjabi actor-singer Gippy Grewal, Tina Ahuja returns with another film entitled Driving Me Crazy.
“It’s a life movie,” says Govinda’s daughter, who can be seen in the short film, which recently appeared on Zee5. The short focuses on young people “addicted to online dating apps in a quest for love,” and also features TV actors Mudit Nayar and Shrashti Maheshwari. “I play a modern girl who is confident enough to make her own choices,” she adds. The film is directed by film writer and director Purnima Lamchhane, daughter of the late KB Lamchhane, who produced the Vinod Khanna and Neetu Singh star Raaj Mahal (1982). Ahuja says, “I knew Purnima through my parents. She takes writing for granted because films are part of her legacy.”
Ahuja was last seen in singer-composer Gajendra Verma’s video clip, Milo na tum. With Driving Me Crazy, the star daughter hopes to return to the scene with exciting offers. “I’d love to be a part of any good content – web shows, short films or digital movies.”
Some time ago, Govinda had announced his intention to produce a movie for his daughter. “It would be exciting to work with him,” says Ahuja, who, like her father, is adept at dancing. “Dad thinks I’m dancing like he does,” she says.
