On Monday, Mumbai Police told the Bombay High Court that Riya Chakraborty’s complaint against the sisters of Sushant Singh Rajput is “an expose of crime” and they are “duty bound” to file an FIR. This comes after the days when the CBI protested the FIR against the sisters.
In an affidavit filed by the police in court, he also dismissed the allegations of trying to harm the reputation of the late actor and his sisters. Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters- Priyanka Singh and Mitu Singh had earlier filed a petition to dismiss the case against them. Meanwhile, the affidavit submitted by the Mumbai Police is for the dismissal of the petition by the sisters.
The affidavit asserted that “with the help of a doctor from Delhi, a fake medical prescription was sent by the petitioners, in which medicines for concern were given to Rajput”. The affidavit also claimed that the drug may have contributed to the death of the 34-year-old actor.
“This can lead to the administration of psychotropic substances without the actual examination of Rajput by the doctor, and may be the cause and contribution of his suicide. In this version of the informant, warrant investigation of cognizable offenses and without any preliminary investigation required disclosure. Therefore, the Mumbai Police was bound to file an FIR, ”the police told the court in the affidavit.
Six days before his death, the sisters of Sushant Singh Rajput allegedly purchased drugs which are banned under narcotics and psychotropic substance. According to an exchange of WhatsApp texts between Sushant and his sister, Priyanka Singh had allegedly advised him to take Librium, Mexito and Lonzep which are prescribed for anxiety and depression. The petition revealed that Drs. Tarun Kumar prescribes the medicine without taking any prior information about Sushant’s condition and mental health.
