Pooja Bhatt responded on Wednesday to the horrific incident of the alleged gang rape and murder of a 50-year-old woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district.

Pooja voiced her concern, writing in a separate tweet, “We seem to care as little about humans-women in particular as we do about animals. Laws against all forms of violence must become stricter. All of this quelled the anger and frustration pervading the society manifests itself in despicable, gruesome ways. “
The National Women’s Commission (NCW) has since taken note of media reports about the incident. According to reports, the crime took place when the woman went to a temple to pray.
