Satyadeep Misra on Kaali Khuhi: Shabana Azmi taught me that less is more

Underappreciated as they come Satyadeep Misra, who was last seen in Masaba Gupta’s series, according to rumors, the series from Lady Love designer – Masaba Masaba – is back with Kaali Khuhi. The horror thriller, which will hit Netflix on October 30, “explores a family’s dark history as they travel back to their village,” said Misra, who plays the father of a young girl.

Helped by Los Angeles-based writer-director Terrie Samundra, Kaali Khuhi examines relationships in crisis. “It explores the relationship between the child, her parents and grandmother,” says Misra, adding that he was tied by Aadore Mukherjee (casting director) and picked up the role after a convincing look test.

Collaborating with Shabana Azmi is a first for Misra and has great significance. ‘I can pat myself on the back for doing something right [in my career] to be able to share screen space with her. We first met during the script reading session, “says the actor, adding that he was pleasantly surprised to see the veteran’s humble nature.” The greatest actors don’t have to put in too much effort to put someone at ease; it’s built into it.
