Actress Lara Dutta Bhupathi walked through memory on Wednesday, remembering returning to her hometown of Bengaluru after winning the Miss Universe title in 2000. Lara posted throwback photos on Instagram of people in Bengaluru gathering in droves to welcome her.

Lara was the second Indian to win the title after Sushmita Sen. She was crowned the 49th Miss Universe in Nicosia, Cyprus. She later entered Bollywood with the movie “Andaaz” in 2003. Lara will next appear in the movie “Bell Bottom”, starring Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi.
