The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and DC Universe have made it clear once and for all that creating a film series and getting popular characters from different films together is a great formula. Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures created a Monsterview, perhaps inspired by this aspect. After giving three films in this universe – GODZILLA [2014], Kong: SKULL ISLAND [2017] And God: the king of demons [2019], The fourth and much awaited film is here – GODZILLA VS. Kong. The trailer has received an overwhelming response and the memories and jokes surrounding the epic fight in the film have contributed to the film’s promotion. So what is GODZILLA VS. Did Kong manage to give the audience highly entertaining time? Or does it fail to impress? Let us analyze.

GODZILLA VS. Kong is the story of a huge clash of two titans. It is a typical day at Pensacola, Florida Complex for Apex Cybernetics. Suddenly, Godzilla attacks the company’s facility without provocation and causes mass destruction. Until now, Godzilla was seen as the savior of humanity but this episode makes him the villain of the world. Meanwhile, in Skull Island, Kong is placed in a very wide enclosure by Monarch. Dr. Eileen Andrews (Rebecca Hall) works at the facility as an anthropologist linguist. She is trying her best to communicate with Kong and understand his behavior patterns. She is surprised when she realizes one day that her adopted daughter Jia (Kaylee Hotell) manages to form a bond with Kong and communicate with him. Dr. Nathan Lind (Alexander Skarsgård) is hired by Apex heads Ren Serizawa (Sean Oguri) and Walter Simmons (Damien Bichir) based on their research and a book on the Titans. Ren and Walter plan to lure Godzilla into the Hollow Earth through an opening in Antarctica and then destroy it there. Godzilla and Kong have a longstanding rivalry and feel that if they manage to get Kong into Hollow Earth, Godzilla will follow and their objective can be achieved. In no time, Monarch gives go-ahead to go to Antarctica for the mission. Kong is chained and transported in a huge ship. Dr. Eileen, Jia, dr. Nathan and a top Apex executive, Maya Simmons (Ija Gonzalez), are also with Kong in the ship. Dr. Ilene orders a detour so that they do not pass through the normal route to Godzilla while at sea. Nevertheless, Godzilla senses Kong’s presence and attacks the monkey. Kong manages to save himself but is seriously injured. With Jia’s help he manages to recover. Meanwhile, in Florida, Bernie Hayes (Brian Tyree Henry), an Apex employee, is running a podcast in which he is telling his listeners that all is not well at the company. She is a fan of Madison (Millie Bobby Brown), daughter of Monarch scientists Mark (Kyle Chandler), and the late Emma Russell. She manages to track Bernie. Bernie shares with him that a mysterious shipment is about to be sent to Hong Kong’s Apex Complex. To find out more about it, they infiltrate the nearly destroyed Apex facility in Pensacola, Florida. The two are also joined by Madison’s neer friend, Josh Valentine (Julian Dennison). What happens next is the rest of the film.

The story of Terry Rossio, Michael Douberti and Zac Shields is entertaining and has all the ingredients of a grand, cinematic spectacle. The screenplay by Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein is highly effective. The focus is strongly placed on the battle between the two demons and the build-up. Some human characters do not get worthy screen space, but the writer compensates to some extent by giving Jia’s track and some excellent scenes from Bernie, Madison, and Josh. The dialogues contribute a lot to the humor, especially in Bernie’s track.

Adam Wingard’s direction is simple and commercial. He makes the entire experience suitable for all types of audiences, especially the general public and family audiences. What is commendable is that he can do a lot in just 113 minutes. Although both monsters come face to face for a limited time, the construction is done in a spectacular way. Once they start fighting, the audience is fully engaged. In fact, he has handled the climax and it is certain that A. paisa vasool Audience experience. On Flipside, to see Godzilla as a villain may not go down well with a section of the audience, especially those who have been emotionally invested with the monster in previous Monsterview films. Secondly, in the process of focusing on Godzilla and Kong, the villain track suffers. Opponents rarely get time to shine. As a result, his back story and his character motivation were never properly explained. Not just them, even Dr. Elaine and Drs. Lind’s character also suffers from weak characterization. Finally, it is amazing to see how soon the county is allowed to leave Skull Island and travel to Antarctica. Knowing the dangers from Godzilla to the open sea, Monarch and Apex management should spend a few minutes to discuss the pros and cons of the mission.

GODZILLA VS. Kong starts on a very sweet note and the tone suddenly changes to a shocking look as we realize that although Kang is roaming free in Skull Island, he is actually off from all sides. The attack on the Apex facility in Florida sets the mood. Most of the first hour is spent on the characters, their objectives and of course, embarking on a grand voyage to the sea with Kong. The first fight between Godzilla and Kong is extremely entertaining. But the first half is not just about thrills and action. The emotional bond between Kong and Jia is sweet and adds a lot to the film’s appeal. After the interval, many unanswered questions are answered. Kong’s experience in Hollow Earth and Antarctica is also worth visiting. But as expected, Finale is reserved for the best. The climax battle is epic in many ways. The film ends on a perfectly reasonable note.

Speaking of performance, Rebecca Hall outlines her part very well. She gives her best even if her character is not fully developed. Kaylee Hotell is like the soul of the film. She expresses it beautifully with her eyes and expressions and all her scenes are memorable. Alexander Skarsgård is fine and has very limited scope. Brian Tyree Henry is highly entertaining as a talkative conspiracy theory. He has to face some of the best lines in the film. Millie Bobby Brown performs a trustworthy act. Julian Dennison is entertaining. Sean Oguri and Damien Bichir are fine as villains. Sean Oguri has played a character named Serizawa and probably means he probably belongs to Ishoro Serizawa, the Emperor Hero who sacrificed his life in GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS. But this relationship is not mentioned in the film, not even for a second. Kyle Chandler takes part in the series from the previous film and this time, his role is limited to a cameo. Eiza corresponds to Gonzalez part.

The music score of Janhvi XL is thrilling. Sound mixing enhances entertainment by several notches. Ben Ceresin’s cinematography is stunning and combines fun and madness. Tom Hammock and Owen Patterson’s production design is rich and superior, just as the film was in demand. Ann Foley’s costumes are realistic. The action is just right and thankfully it is neither too gory nor violent. VFX is one of the pillars of the film. The special effects are out of the world and one can see that there have been attempts to go one level higher than the other films in the series. Therefore, this time, the expressions of Kong are even more elaborate and lively. At the same time, the destruction of the city at the climax is also quite extreme and incredible. Josh Schaefer’s editing is fast as the film progresses at a brisk pace.

Overall, GODZILLA VS. Kong is the one paisa vasool Entertainment that would be best on the big screen. The film is stacked with a great story and construction and the climax battle between the demons is amazing. At the box office, the film marked the best debut for any film since lockdown, despite it being a mid-week release. In the coming days, it is sure to attract more family and mass audiences. The increase in Kovid cases may have some negative effects but the opening has made it clear that the effect will be minimal.
