In the latest twist to the Amazon-Future legal dispute, the Supreme Court on Monday stayed the Delhi High Court hearing in a case involving the sale of Future Group to its subsidiary Future Retail to Reliance Industries. The order came after Amazon appealed to the Supreme Court against the High Court division bench’s decision to go ahead with Future Group. ₹Property sales of Rs 24,713 crore. The court judge ordered the stay, upholding orders issued by the Singapore International Arbitration Center in favor of Amazon.
With this, the judicial breaks on the Future Retail compound proposed by Reliance Retail were hit again. Amazon objected to the deal, alleging that it violated the investment agreement with Future అది, which gave Future Retail the opportunity to buy. The legal validity of the deal was questioned, although a Singapore court found sufficient reason to pause the sale of the business to Reliance. It is up to our judiciary to decide whose right it is, but the twists and turns in this three-way war should not cast a long shadow over how business is done in India. Deciding which is right is not so difficult.
