Amit Shah’s review of the Kovid-19 situation has led to spikes in some state cases

New Delhi : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday reviewed the COVID-19 situation in the country in the wake of the sudden rise in the number of states.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla and top officials of the two ministries were also present at the review meeting.

The Home Ministry has reviewed the coronavirus situation in the country, especially in states that have seen a sharp trend in recent cases, a Home Ministry official said.

The meeting discussed the ongoing vaccination campaign and the steps needed to prevent further spread of the virus, the official said.

The meeting also discussed possible assistance to the affected states, another official said.

In states like Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, the number of Kovid-19s has risen sharply. PTI ACB TR TIR TR
