The main opposition DMK boycotted the presentation of the 2021-22 interim budget on Tuesday. Tamil Nadu Assembly and out of the house.
Speaker P Dhanpal called on the Deputy Chief Minister and Pannarselvam to present the interim financial statements while swearing in for the budget and demanding advance grants.

However, DMK deputy leader Duraimurugan was on his feet and sought the chair’s permission to express the party’s ‘vision’. The Speaker replied that the budget had to be presented and that what the DMK leader had said would not go on record.
After that, all DMK members stood up and asked the speaker’s permission to allow Duraimurugan to express his views on the party.
As soon as Pannirselvam started reading the budget, DMK members marched after chanting slogans against the government for a while.
