Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat made a real mistake when he addressed a function in Ramnagar, Uttarakhand today, saying that “America has enslaved India for 200 years.”
“Unlike other countries, India is doing better in dealing with the COID-11 crisis. The United States, which has enslaved us for 200 years and ruled the world, is currently fighting,” he said.
When the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand commented on the amount of rations distributed during the Kobid-19 lockdown, he too caused a stir: one family with two got less ration and if they had 20 children, they would get more.
Rawat said, “Jessen gave birth to 20 babies and gave one quintal of grain to Uses Humne. One quintal of rice was distributed to 20 children and the family including two children got 10 kg of rice. You did not give birth to enough children in time.
The newly-appointed CM of Uttarakhand recently said that women wearing ripped jeans have sent a wrong message to society and children.
Speaking at a workshop organized by the Uttarakhand State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights in Dehradun, Rawat said he was shocked to meet a woman who was running an NGO wearing jeans on a flight with her children. “What kind of message are we giving to the society,” he said.
In condemnation of Rawat’s remarks, a number of women, including politicians and celebrities, posted photos in chipped jeans #RepadJeans Twitter (ANI)
