Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Bhadra’s husband Robert Bhadra has become self-detached today after a positive test for Covid-19. He tested negative for COVID.
Priyanka Gandhi says she has tested negative for COVID, but is canceling campaign in Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala due to self-isolation.
After coming in contact with the coronavirus, Priyanka Gandhi Bhadra said that she was isolating herself on the advice of a doctor.
Earlier, according to Congress party sources, Priyanka Gandhi was going to campaign for Kanyakumari parliamentary seat, which was vacated after the death of Congress MP H Basant Kumar. Sources said that the party has fielded V Vijayakumar to retain the constituency.
In Tamil Nadu, the Congress is contesting 25 assembly seats in alliance with the DMK. Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu will be held in a single phase in April and the votes will be counted on May 2.
Priyanka Gandhi is actively campaigning in electoral states like Assam, Kerala and will now campaign in Tamil Nadu. He has made two trips to Assam so far and his third visit will be held on April 2.
He will also address a public meeting in West Bengal, party sources said.
