Calcutta : Veteran BJP leader Ram Madhav on Sunday said he did not see any hurdle in implementing the budget proposal to restructure public sector units as the concerns of RSS affiliates are being addressed through dialogue.
He claimed that there was a difference of opinion on the issue between RSS branches like the Indian Workers Union (BMS) and the Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) and that the party was shrinking due to the existence of “uninterrupted dialogue with these organizations”.
“There is no big difference of opinion … We have a system of regular exchange of notes with these companies.
Asked about the Centre’s announcement of a ban in the budget, Madhav told PTI, “There is no such opposition from anyone.”
BMS and SJM, which work in the economic sector, expressed concern over the government’s proposals in the budget to increase the spending, privatization and foreign direct investment (FDI) limits for public sector entities.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman proposed to amend the Insurance Act, 1938 to increase the FDI limit allowed in insurance companies from 49 per cent to 74 per cent.
He further said that the center is working towards strategic reconstruction.
According to FM, several transactions between BPCL, Air India, Shipping Corporation of India, Container Corporation of India, IDBI Bank, BEML, Pawan Hans, Nilachal Ispat Nigam will end in 2022-22.
Apart from IDBI Bank, he proposed privatization of two public sector banks and a general insurance company in 2022-22.
Madhav praised the Union Budget, saying it would help meet the Centre’s vision of turning the country into a global economic powerhouse. PTI BSM BDC BDC
