In Puducherry on Monday, the Congress-led government lost Chief Minister V Narayanasamy’s vote of confidence due to his frustration against 14 members of the opposition after the resignation of the ruling assembly MLAs, including the opposition DMK MLA.
Although Narayanasamy withdrew the motion seeking a vote of confidence a few minutes after the one-day special session meeting, he and his ruling party legislators later walked out with the motion before it could be voted on.
Subsequently, Speaker VP Shivakalundhu announced that the proposal had been defeated, as it was said that Narayanasamay was probably heading the state residence, probably to meet Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan.
