TMC leaders Mahua Maitra and Yashwant Sinha will meet the EC on Friday

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is scheduled to meet in Delhi at 12 noon on Friday to discuss issues related to the free and fair conduct of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) parliamentary delegation to the forthcoming West Bengal Assembly elections.

TMC will be represented by Saugata Roy, Yashwant Sinha, Md. Nadimul Haque, Pratima Mandal, and Mahua Maitra.

Yashwant Sinha, who recently joined the Trinamool Congress, was appointed vice-president of the Mamata Banerjee-led party ahead of the Assembly elections.

The state will witness a high-octane battle between the BJP, TMC and the Left-Congress alliance.

Elections for the 294-member state assembly will begin in eight phases from April 26 to April 29, with the final round of voting set to begin. The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
