Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine at the Civil Hospital in Lucknow today.
On April 1, India launched the third phase of the world’s largest vaccination campaign, where the government introduced the vaccine for people over the age of 45.
On Saturday, the Center and the States and Union Territories were instructed to stop new registrations of healthcare and frontline workers as some ineligible beneficiaries under the department were violating the rules by enrolling them for vaccination of Covid-19.
The death toll from CVID-19 in Uttar Pradesh rose to 7,81 on Sunday, with 31 more killed in the state and the number of new infections transmitted to 4,644 new cases, rising to 30,099.

Following the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, the Uttar Pradesh government has issued a new guideline to monitor infected patients and their communication.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a review meeting at his official residence here and directed that special attention should be paid to Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar.
Chief Secretary RK Tiwari said an area of 25 meters should be declared as a content zone around any house where a CVID-19 case has been detected.
If there are multiple COVID-19 cases in an area, it will be considered as a cluster.
A monitoring team will conduct its survey and investigation.
The rules for multi-storey apartments will be different. If any patient is found, that floor of the apartment will be sealed. If more than one is found, the entire block will be sealed, the letter said.
However, the reservation period will expire if no case is received for 14 days.
