The Uttar Pradesh government has issued an order to give one crore doses of Kovid-19 vaccine. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted, “The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered 10 million doses (50 lakh doses of Kovishield and Kovacin) for the vaccination campaign starting May 1.”
Uttar Pradesh on Saturday recorded the highest number of new infections and coronavirus deaths in a single day, with 36,055 fresh infections and 223 deaths, bringing the number of viruses to 10,51,314 and 10,999.
The highest number of new casualties due to Kovid-19 was recorded in Lucknow at 42, followed by 15 in Prayagraj. At least 13 people were killed in Kanpur and 11 in Agra. The UN government said in a statement issued here that 10 people each died in Varanasi and Ghaziabad.
Lucknow has the highest number of 5,461 COID-19 cases, followed by Varanasi (2,7866), Kanpur (2,044), Meerut (1,45455), Prayagraj (1,46868), Moradabad (1,331), Gorakhpur. (1,344) and Berili (1,044).
In the last 24 hours, 23,231 CVD-19 patients have recovered from the disease and the number of recoveries has risen to 7,52,211.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state stands at 2,88,144, the statement said.
In the last 24 hours, more than 2.25 lakh samples have been tested for Kovid-19 in Uttar Pradesh, and more than 3.99 crore people have been tested for the virus in the state so far, it said.
Meanwhile, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the officials that the hospitals where COVD-19 patients are being treated should disclose the availability of beds twice a day to the public.
He directed that the details of the beds in the COVID-19 hospital be uploaded on the website of the Integrated Control and Command Center.
Registering on the Coin web portal and making an appointment to get the Covid-19 vaccine job will be mandatory for 18- to 45-year-olds because initially walk-ins will not be allowed, official sources said on Sunday.
People over the age of 45 can still take advantage of site registration to get vaccinated, they said.
India has decided to allow everyone over the age of 18 to be vaccinated from May 1, when the coronavirus case has suddenly escalated.
“Increased demand is expected after the introduction of this vaccine for all. For the purpose of crowd control, it will be mandatory to register on the Quinn portal and make an appointment for a vaccine for people between the ages of 18 and 45.
